Sunday Tailgate Tradition

This video is focused on the tradition of the Sunday tailgate. Growing up in the American Southeast, on Sundays, you were either at a football tailgate or church- this video is an ode to that tradition.

In this piece I got to experiment with a new method of shading that I've learned in After Effects while also trying to hone in on the thickest Southern accent I could pull together.

light compositing

For this effect in After Effects, I used a Shape Layer with a Set Matte and Roughen Edges on time with an expression of "time*7.5". The specific values under each Shape Layer's Roughen Edges varied from what was needed for that object.

Glows were occasionally used to enhance shines. Having all of the effects precomped to their objects allowed for endless combinations of lighting and glow capabilities.
