Murphy's Keys explores the idea that it's what we hold on to the tightest that typically leads to our downfall. The character's name, Murphy, is in reference to Murphy's Law: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong."

 

Murphy is trying to run from the deafening back and forth battle in his head after leaving an abusive relationship, forcing him to face his own mortality. Murphy meets his end on this fatal night where the rising rage stemming from his inner voices forces him off a ledge.

This was a great way to experiment with masking tricks and grain shading in after effects.
